Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit at St. Francis Downtown in Greenville.

The PCT provides basic patient care under RN guidance, monitors vital signs, assists with activities of daily living, and maintains a clean, safe environment. EPIC EHR training is preferred; BLS certification required or obtained on hire.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential to support patient comfort and smooth unit operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum one of the following: Nursing aide training program or CNA certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
• Ability to be proactive in a fast-changing healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, hygiene and mobility support.
• Monitors patient health and vital signs and reports changes to the nurse.
• Serves as liaison between patient, family and nursing staff; documents care appropriately.
• Maintains patient rooms and supplies; adheres to infection control procedures.
• Participates in hand-off reports and supports unit operations.
