Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a diverse patient population under RN supervision. You will provide direct and indirect care, collect specimens, perform EKGs, and help maintain patient safety and comfort.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and completion of CNA/MA/PCT training or HMH PCT Apprenticeship, with BLS eligibility within 60 days. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA, Medical Assistant, or PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship; other related medical background considered.
• AHA Basic Life Support eligible within 60 days of start.
• Hospital setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age, safety, and education needs.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens as directed.
• Take vitals, monitor glucose, and perform EKGs as needed.
• Document findings and communicate changes to the RN.
• Support patient comfort, safety, and discharge planning.
