Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a diverse patient population under RN supervision. The role emphasizes direct and indirect care, patient safety, and collaboration with the care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with assessments, vital signs, specimen collection, and basic clinical tasks while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered approach. A CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent is required, with BLS within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician program or equivalent.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (within 60 days) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age and clinical needs.
• Document vital signs and notify RN of abnormalities.
• Assist with assessment, admission and procedures.
• Support patient comfort, safety and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on care plans.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards.
