AtlantiCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the patient care team. The role involves direct and indirect patient care under supervision, assisting with personal care needs, and participating in the plan of care.

The Technician collects specimens, documents care activities, and may perform limited lab services. Excellent communication and confidentiality are essential in this role within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent is required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• CPI training is required within 1 year of hire or transfer (or by 10/31/25 for existing employees).
• English language proficiency is required; bilingual preferred.
• At least 8 weeks of patient care education or direct patient care experience is required; or enrollment in a nursing school or physician assistant program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred and good interpersonal skills are needed.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients with personal care and daily living activities.
• Collect test specimens and document patient care activities.
• Perform limited laboratory services including specimen preparation, QC testing and instrument checks.
• Communicate observations and data to the Clinical Associate.
• Support care team to meet patient needs and maintain confidentiality.
