Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician (13W) for General Medicine in Chicago. The role supports the RN with direct and indirect patient care, including routine tasks, safety, and communication on the unit.

Requires CNA certification (or enrollment), CPR/BLS, and a high school diploma. Prior healthcare experience is preferred; shifts are days with part-time hours.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or enrollment in nursing program and completion of basic clinical rotations.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Annual Health and Safety Training quizzes must be completed with at least 90% accuracy.
• Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Record temperature, pulse, respirations, weight and blood pressure for adults and neonates.
• Perfom phlebotomy and basic nursing procedures under RN supervision.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed across the unit.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and supports daily patient care activities.
