Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Patient Care Tech to support basic nursing care under RN supervision. You will monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and communicate patient needs to the care team.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and CNA/MA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience. Part-time, day shift, with alternating weekends and holidays, in Illinois.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/MA/EMT or nursing student with clinical completed required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms.
• Prioritizes unit tasks and collaborates with the care team.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Responds to calls and communicates with staff/family/patient.
• Supports overall unit workflow with the charge RN or manager.
