Job summary

Entertimeonline in Casper, WY is seeking a patient care support role to assist in-patient care across nursing areas. Responsibilities include safe transport of patients, dispatch of services, and documenting services in the EMR.

The observer position provides constant observation for patients needing heightened safety and supports RN with bedside tasks, documentation, and basic patient care activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient’s status and needs.
• Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs.
• Obtains specimens and transport to and sends through designated tube.
• Transfers, moves, and repositions patients.
• M akes occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.
• Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
• Respects and regards the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
• Measures patient blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, and oxygen saturation.
• Records findings in the EMR and reports values to the primary RN.
• Obtains blood glucose from patients and reports results to RN.
• Empty tubes and drains to include but not limited to: indwelling urinary catheters, J/P (Jackson Pratt) drains, and Hemovac drains. Record the output in the EMR and report them to the primary RN.
• Assists RN with simple bedside procedures to include but not limited to: urinary catheter insertion and/or removal, tubes and drains, and bandage changes.
• Measures and records food and liquid intake, urinary, fecal, tubes and drains output and reports values to RNs.
• Bladder scan patients and report the results to the primary RN.
• Reinforce/encourage patient after initial education/teaching has been completed by the RN.
• Perform o ther duties as assigned.
