Job summary

SCK Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for ER/Observation areas on a per diem basis. You will assist the RN/LPN and provider, perform vital signs, and support patient transfers and documentation.

Shifts include days, nights, weekends, with 12-hour blocks. Team-oriented, reliable transportation, and ability to care for patients of all ages are essential. CNA/EMT with BLS within 6 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA or EMT certification; BLS within 6 months of employment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work with patients of all age groups.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN/LPN and/or provider with patient care and procedures.
• Record vital signs and document measurements per protocol.
• Perform 12-Lead EKGs and print telemetry strips.
• Assist with patient transfers and admissions; gather and relay information.
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in unit staff meetings.
• Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding and hygiene.
