Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a PRN Nurse Assistant to support the nursing team in providing patient care, comfort and safety in a hospital setting.

The role involves assisting with hygiene, dressing, mobility, transportation to tests and procedures, serving meals, and potentially recording vitals under the direction of a nurse. Prior completion of an accredited nurse assisting program or one year of patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nurse assisting program or one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital environment with energetic teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing team with a variety of patient care activities to support personal needs, comfort and safety.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking; change bed linens; transport to tests and procedures.
• May serve and collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment.
• May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
