Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for night shifts in a long-term care setting. You will provide resident-centered nursing care under RN supervision, assist with daily living activities, and document care interactions.

A CNA certification and ongoing CE credits are required, with a sign-on bonus of $2,500. Qualifications include a GED or high school diploma, minimum age 16, and prior long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior CNA experience in long‑term care preferred.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits.
• Maintains all department specific required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Delivers age‑appropriate care per care plan.
• Follows infection prevention and PPE policies.
• Assists with daily living activities and vital signs.
• Transfers, repositions, and supports walking with proper technique.
• Assists with meals and hydration.
• Aids providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed.
• Documents resident interactions and care outcomes.
• Communicates changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
• Collects non-invasive samples and vital signs.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services to keep living areas clean.
• Encourages participation in wellness and recreational programs.
