Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Indiana is seeking a qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care under the direction of the Director of Nursing. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and adherence to individual care plans to promote residents’ independence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution per individualized plan.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to supervisors and physicians.
• Document observations and medication-related activities throughout shifts.
• Ensure timely handoffs and accurate MAR documentation.
• Administer medications following the five rights and monitor vital signs.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

State-approved medication aide/technician certification

Insulin certification

CPR or BLS certification

Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
