Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Dyer, Indiana is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care in accordance with individualized care plans. This position supports activities of daily living, promotes safety and wellbeing, and ensures accurate documentation of care and medication delivery.

Qualifications

• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution to residents following an individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors with timely interventions.
• Document all pertinent observations, incidents, and daily medication administration throughout the shift.
• Pass required information to the next shift to ensure quality resident care and accurate MAR documentation.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights (right medication, route, resident, time, dose).
• Support activities of daily living and assist with transfers and ambulation as directed.
