Cedarhurst Senior Living in Crown Point, IN, seeks a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care under the Director of Nursing. The role supports daily living activities, ensures safety, and maintains precise care documentation for a resident-focused environment.

The position requires a state-approved medication aide certification; insulin certification is preferred, with CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification is required.
• Insulin certification is preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution per individualized care plans.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document observations, incidents, interventions, and medication administration.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely MAR documentation and narcotic counts.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights (right medication, route, resident, time, dose).
• Provide glucose monitoring and insulin administration where certified.
• Assist with activities of daily living and nutrition/hydration needs.
• Assist with transfers and ambulation and promote safety and independence.
