Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care per individualized care plans. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will support activities of daily living, observe condition changes, and document care to maintain safety and independence.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accurate documentation, and compliance with five rights, with a focus on resident well‑being and a person‑centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution according to an individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians and supervisors, providing timely interventions.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily MAR documentation throughout the shift.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely documentation by Resident Assistants.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights and insulin monitoring if applicable.

Education
