Job summary

Apploi in Indiana is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to provide resident care under nursing supervision. The role includes medication administration, vital signs, and collaboration with the medical team.

You will document care, follow physician orders, and help with daily activities, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and safety standards.

This full‑time position requires certification and prior long‑term care experience; weekend and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• QMA certificate in good standing on file with the appropriate Department of Health.
• One year of experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records patient's vital signs and weight.
• Administers medications according to physician orders (oral, topical, and suppositories) and documents administration.
• Maintains compliance with policies, HIPAA, and safety procedures including Fire Safety plans and drills.
• Performs non-licensed tasks such as hot/cold applications and routine observations.
• Observes and reports any medication-related untoward effects.
• Takes vitals as needed before certain medications are given.
• Provides direct resident care and may function as CNA when not assigning medications.
• Maintains courteous, professional relationships with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
