Job summary

Marathon Health in Ohio is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. The MA works with a primary care physician to deliver patient care and a seamless guest experience, serving as both a receptionist and clinician to support the full patient journey.

Requirements include at least 1 year as a Medical Assistant, graduation from a MA program, and CPR/BLS certification. National or state MA certification preferred; phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred
• MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures that exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked
• Reviews previous medical information and gathers updated health information from the patient
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures
• Process test results and provide timely results via e-message, mail or phone
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, and other care coordination
• Records accurate data in the medical record per documentation guidelines
• Partners with care team to develop patient plan of care and address care gaps
