The Medical Assistant at Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) provides high-quality, direct patient care in a team-based Primary Care setting, supporting smooth clinical and administrative operations. You will engage with patients, families and colleagues to enhance care delivery and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

You will perform essential MA duties under supervision, including vitals, phlebotomy, immunizations, and assisting during procedures, while contributing to population health

Formación

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred.
• License Medical Assistant Certificate preferred, or Registration Certified Nursing Assistant preferred, or Certificate 1 EMT Basic License preferred, or Certificate 2 Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Demonstrated Medical Assistant competencies within one year of hire.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsabilidades

• Assist patient over the course of visit: facilitates flow, informs patient/provider of delays, updates medication and allergy lists, reviews screening questions, acts as liaison to ensure service delivery.
• Communicate clearly with patient and team; provide hand-off to provider entering the exam room.
• Perform medical assisting duties under supervision: vitals, height/weight, EKGs, point of care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations (certified MAs), and assistance during routine procedures.
• Lead conversations to meet population health goals through outreach and health coaching; monitor practice activity and assist with data gathering.
• Monitor, order, and maintain medical equipment and supplies; ensure cleanliness, proper sterilization, and expiration checks.
• Queue prescription renewals in the EHR and enter orders for tests or appointments; document tasks for proper billing.
• Schedule diagnostic and lab tests; verify patient insurance, prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
• Identify OSHA compliance issues and maintain patient safety practices; protect PHI usage for treatment, payment, and operations.
