Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality, direct patient care in a team-based model for BIDHC patients. You will support administrative and clinical operations while maintaining patient safety and PHI privacy.

The role involves vital signs, phlebotomy, immunizations, EHR tasks, and coordinating care with the clinical team. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Health Science preferred.
• License Medical Assistant Certificate preferred, or Registration Certified Nursing Assistant preferred, or EMT/Phlebotomy certificates preferred.
• 0–1 years related work experience required.
• Demonstrated MA competencies within one year of hire.
• Basic familiarity with computers; able to navigate web-based applications.

Responsabilidades

• Through relationship development and care team coordination, contributes to the BIDHC patient, practice, and organizational goals.
• Assists patient during visits: facilitates timely flow, informs patient/provider of delays, updates medications/allergies, reviews screening questions.
• Communicates clearly with patient and team: provides hand-off to provider entering the exam room.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision: vitals, EKGs, point of care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations, and procedural assistance.
• Leads conversations to meet population health goals through outreach and health coaching; monitors activity and performs data gathering.
• Maintains medical equipment and supplies; ensures clean, stocked, and within expiration dates; adheres to safety standards.
• Queues prescriptions in EHR and enters orders for tests/services; documents visit activities for billing.
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests; verifies insurance, prior authorizations, referrals and pre-certifications.
• Identifies OSHA compliance issues and protects PHI; reports adverse events.
