Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Practical Nurse to join Nursing Administration at Carolinas Medical Center in Morehead. The role involves patient preparation, vital signs, and coordinating care under physician supervision.

The candidate will contribute to lab procedures, assist with procedures, and administer medications as ordered. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills are essential, along with BLS certification and an accredited PN program.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• LPN license valid in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days unless exempt.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and Standard precautions.
• Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries as needed.
• Administer medications under physician orders, including IV therapy within scope.
• Provide patient education and coordinate follow-up care with nurses and physicians.
