Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LPN training program
• Licensed Practical Nurse licensure from the state of NC
• BLS within 6 months unless exempted by leader
• Previous LPN experience in a clinical or health care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care activities per education, training, and licensure according to an established care plan.
• Directs or escorts patients to clinical areas, prepares patients, assists with examinations, and collects data.
• Administers and documents medications ordered by providers; calls in med orders to pharmacy.
• Assists with interpretation of patient data and monitors health care status and treatments.
• Documents findings and adheres to policies/procedures; maintains chart accuracy.
• Reviews and documents procedures, meds, supplies, and testing on the patient chart.
• Triages and documents patient phone calls regarding medications and conditions; coordinates with provider as needed.
• Cleans and stocks examination rooms and supply areas.
• Participates in clinical studies data collection and quality assurance.
• Attends team meetings and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains knowledge of care teams for patient coordination and self-management.

Education

Graduation from an accredited LPN training program

NC LPN licensure

BLS (American Heart Association) within 6 months

Previous LPN experience in health care setting preferred
