Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join Nursing Administration at Carolinas Medical Center. This 20-hour-per-week position offers PRN scheduling and benefits eligibility, with a pay range of $24.10 to $36.15 per hour.

The role involves patient prep, vital signs, IV therapy initiation under supervision, medications administration, education, and collaboration with physicians and the health care team.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 45 days unless exempt.
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patient for exam, record vital signs and update health data.
• Perform aseptic lab procedures and specimen collection.
• Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries (pelvic exams, testing, EMG, colposcopy).
• Administer medications under orders, including vaccines, antibiotics and insulin.
• Monitor IV therapy within limits and provide patient education on tasks and self-care.
• Coordinate referrals, test orders, and appointment scheduling with the care team.
