Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join our clinical team in Charlotte. The role involves patient preparation, specimen collection, and assisting with physician procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

You will administer medications under orders, monitor patients, perform basic labs, and educate patients on post-visit care. Strong communication and organization are essential for coordinating care with physicians and nurses.

Qualifications

• LPN license active in the state of practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 45 days.
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patient for exam; document vital signs and health info.
• Perform lab procedures (strep test, cultures) using aseptic technique.
• Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries under supervision.
• Administer medications per orders; manage IV therapy within limits.
• Provide patient education on tasks, treatment and self-care; coordinate referrals.
• Communicate with physicians and health care team; document patient status.
• Perform advanced tasks under supervision (sutures, catheterization, EKG, etc.).
• Prepare exam rooms and labs; maintain supplies and equipment.
