Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking an LPN to provide basic nursing care for geriatric residents in a long-term care setting. You will assess residents at admission and throughout staying, document findings, and communicate significant changes to the interdisciplinary team.

The role requires completing care plans, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring patient safety. A strong emphasis on teamwork and ongoing education is expected.

Qualifications

• Education from an accredited nursing program and licensure as LPN.
• CPR and AED certification required, or willing to obtain within six months.
• IV certification required, or willing to obtain within six months.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to assess basic nursing care needs of geriatric residents.
• Excellent communication skills with residents, families and staff.
• Time management and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care and assess residents on admission and ongoing basis.
• Communicate significant changes in condition to the IDT.
• Document assessments accurately and timely.
• Participate in care planning and update plans as interventions change.
• Ensure safe administration of medications and treatments.
• Provide IV care if IV certified; otherwise perform within policy.
• Respond to call lights and assist with ADLs as needed.
