Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Fairmont, WV, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care to assigned patients under supervision. The role involves documenting care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting patients in a high-acuity skilled nursing setting.

Shift is 7a-7p, 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements. Related duties may include postmortem care and patient safety tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current CNA certification issued by the state or within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Record entries on flow sheets, notes, and charts per policy and procedures.
• Measure and record temperatures, pulse, and respirations per policy and procedures.
• Provide care based on age-specific standards for adult geriatric patients.
• Assist with ADLs and feeding; support bowel and bladder programs.
• Turn, position, and transfer patients; use proper body mechanics.
• Report abuse or incidents and assist with postmortem care as needed.
• Assist with ambulation, gait training, and therapy-directed devices.
