Job summary

PVH Potomac Valley Hospital in West Virginia is seeking a Nursing Assistant to perform nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will coordinate with licensed medical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include observing patient conditions, assisting with admissions/discharges, recording vitals, hygiene, infection control, and supporting administrative tasks. Shift is varied; 36 hours per week; non-exempt and on-site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Current state CNA/Nurse's Aide certification for the state where services are performed (MD, OH, PA, or WV).

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to the Nursing Staff immediately.
• Assists Nursing Staff with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; records intake/output.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per procedure.
• Communicates nutrition-related concerns to Nursing Staff.
• Helps department with administrative tasks.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
