Job summary

WVU Health System in Fairmont, West Virginia, seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care in accordance with assessments, plans of care, and care plans as directed by supervisors.

The position is PRN with 12-hour shifts (day and night) and requires CNA certification, BLS within 30 days, and the ability to lift and assist patients. Work location includes WVUH facilities serving Fairmont community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification or pending within 3 months of hire (WV Nurse's Aide as applicable).
• Background check and, if applicable, federal checks required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Record entries on flow sheets and charts per policy.
• Measure and record temperatures, pulse, and respirations per policy.
• Provide care for adult geriatric patients per age-specific standards.
• Assist with ADLs and daily hygiene as instructed by therapy or nursing staff.
• Report injuries, abuse, or incidents per policy and procedure.
• Assist with mobility and positioning, feeding, and basic patient comfort.
