Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the General Hospital in Charleston, WV. You will perform direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and help with daily living activities and unit responsibilities.

Responsibilities include delivering care per policy, assisting with procedures, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting staff with supplies and equipment. Some duties may involve house coverage and orientation of new CNAs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse and according to hospital policy and procedure.
• Assist with procedures as determined by hospital policy and procedure, and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living and daily assignments.
• Assist in orientation of new Nursing Assistants.
• Provide courteous and prompt response to patient requests.
• May be required to cover the house.
• Assist with unit maintenance related to ordering and receiving supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment.
