Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff by providing basic patient care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a family-centered experience.

You will perform routine tasks, monitor vital signs, assist with tests and transport, and help maintain a clean, safe environment under RN supervision. Rotating shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS/HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care by providing basic physical care under RN direction.
• Support activities of daily living and comfort, including bed making.
• Safely transport patients and specimens per policy and escort for procedures.
• Perform routine tests such as glucose monitoring and basic phlebotomy as assigned.
• Record vital signs and I&O, and report concerns to a nurse promptly.
• Provide respiratory support equipment setup and assist with examinations.
