Job summary

Mountain Laurel Recovery Center in Westfield, Pennsylvania seeks an Intake Coordinator to manage front desk operations, phone triage, and pre-registration for admissions, ensuring a welcoming and professional first impression for clients and families.

You'll verify insurance eligibility, coordinate with insurance providers and treatment teams, conduct initial assessments, and diligently document all contact activities in the CRM to support timely admissions and outstanding service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
• One or more years' experience in healthcare admissions preferred.
• Experience in client assessment, referral, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Outstanding interpersonal and interviewing and assessment skills.
• Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-admission assessments.
• Interviews client, family members and/or collateral sources to assure intake criteria are met.
• Reviews prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures.
• Generates, guides, and leads discussions with referral sources for client support and business development with other treatment and healthcare professionals.
• Responds and reacts to the needs of referred clients.
• Assesses family needs for mediation, sober escort and intervention and determines which professional resources are most appropriate to contact.
• Decides which Interventionist and facility to recommend, the dates, and the travel.
• Documents daily all activities, contacts, appointments, and events in the CRM.
• Maintains all documentation involved with the admissions process.
• Utilizes resources to ensure insurance verifications of benefits for all clients on all private insurance admissions.
• Screens calls from referrals and sets up transportation for admission.
• Maintains a waiting list for admissions and stays in contact with potential candidates to facilitate admissions.
