Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide compassionate personal care to hospice patients, under the direction of the VITAS Nurse. This non-exempt role supports patients in their daily living activities while promoting comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include maintaining hygiene, assisting with meals and mobility, implementing prescribed treatments, and documenting vitals. The HHA collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must meet Home Health Aide qualifications per CFR 484.4 and 484.36.
• Documented evidence of 75 hours of training as specified.
• Competency Evaluation program completion required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Plan and prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility support.
• Assist with prescribed treatments under nurse supervision.
• Read, record and report vitals (temperature, pulse, respiration).
