Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide essential personal care and support to hospice patients under nurse supervision. This non-exempt role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered service in the home setting.

The HHA will assist with daily activities, meals, mobility, basic treatments under supervision, and accurate documentation of vitals and care performed, contributing to a safe, supportive home environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 75 hours of Home Health Aide training are required.
• Competency Evaluation program completion is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Plan and prepare meals and assist feeding when needed.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility as directed.
• Assist with prescribed treatments under nurse supervision and document care.
• Read and record temperature, pulse and respiration.
