Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on end-of-life care to patients in the home setting. You will support families, follow care plans, and work with the hospice team to ensure comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a CNA.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to ambulation, transfers, ROM and positioning, and household chores
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status to the primary nurse
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
• Other duties as assigned
