Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients and support for families at end of life. You will assist with daily living activities, promoting comfort, dignity and emotional well-being under the care plan.

Responsibilities include personal care, safe patient handling, meal assistance, light housekeeping, and documenting patient status while collaborating with the hospice team. Must hold CNA and CPR, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Current state certification as a nurse assistant (CNA) per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Uses safety principles and proper body mechanics for transfers and mobility.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental tasks as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
