Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Amedisys Hospice team is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide to support patients and families during end-of-life care. You will provide compassionate, hands-on personal care in home and hospice settings, guided by the patient’s care plan.

This role emphasizes dignity, comfort, and emotional well-being; a CNA certification, CPR, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation are required. Hourly pay ranges from $17.55 to $26.35, with full-time benefits and a path for growth.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA).
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to perform personal care techniques such as ambulation, transferring, ROM, positioning, and homemaking.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals; assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient's status; relays to primary nurse when unable to perform tasks.
• Follows written care instructions prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
