Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, via Amedisys, is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide to deliver compassionate, hands-on care to patients and support families during end-of-life care in the home setting. You will work with the hospice care team to promote comfort, dignity and emotional well-being while following the care plan.

Required qualifications include CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA).
• Current CPR certification.
• CNA experience within the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics in care delivery.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services.
• Observes, reports and documents changes in patient's status.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse per plan of care.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
