Job summary

Affinity Hospice is seeking a Hospice Aide (CNA) to support patients in their homes under the supervision of a registered nurse, delivering compassionate personal care and documenting observations to promote comfort. You will observe, report, and record patient status, assist with daily living activities, and participate in holiday and weekend rotations while traveling locally in the Cullman area.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Meet the state training and certification requirements.
• Possess and maintain CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks after given a patient's assignment and attending to requests promptly.
• Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen.
• Assist in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
• Assist in feeding the patient as assigned.
• Assess and report on patients' condition and significant changes to the case manager.
• Adhere to documentation and care procedures and standards of conduct.
• The hospice aide will not administer medications or perform licensed-nurse procedures.
• Perform other CNA duties as assigned by management.
