Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide in Sumter, SC. You will provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients at home and support families during end-of-life care, aligning with the care plan.

Responsibilities include personal care, safe assisted mobility, meals, homemaking, observing patient status, and documenting changes. Required CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) as per state certification/registration requirements.
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to ambulation, transfers, ROM, positioning, and light household tasks
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status and follows written nurse instructions
• Assists with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
• Other duties as assigned
