Job summary

Beacon Hospice, Amedisys is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients at home and support for families during end-of-life care. You will work with the hospice care team to promote comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being in alignment with the plan of care.

Required qualifications include current CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Preferred: CNA experience in the last two years.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of personal care tasks such as ambulation, transferring, and positioning.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals; assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned; observes, reports and documents changes in patient status.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse; instructions are received prior to service delivery.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
