Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on end-of-life care and support for patients and families at home. You will work with the hospice care team to ensure comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being according to the care plan.

As a CNA Hospice Aide, you will assist with daily living activities, observe patient status, and follow instructions from registered nurses, with opportunities for growth within a caring, patient-focused

Qualifications

• Current state CNA certification/registration as per state requirements
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance
• Preferred: CNA experience within the last 2 years

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding
• Performs homemaking and environmental tasks as assigned
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse
• Follows written care instructions prior to service delivery
• Assists with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
• Other duties as assigned
