Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care in home-based hospice settings. You will support patients and families, promoting comfort, dignity and emotional well-being as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, meals, and documentation, with guidance from a registered nurse. Local travel and full-time hours offered are based on patient census.

Qualifications

• Current state certification as a nurse assistant (CNA).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care activities.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and documents changes in patient's status and reports to the nurse.
• Follows written care instructions prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
