Job summary

Alternate Solutions Health Network is seeking a Hospice Aide to join Adena Hospice. The role involves providing compassionate personal care and comfort to patients, under the supervision of nursing staff, Mon - Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

You will perform baths, assist with meals, monitor vitals, and support patients and families while maintaining high standards of safety and professional conduct. Required state competency training or licensure, and preferably one year of hospice care experience.

Qualifications

• HARD & SOFT SKILLS: Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude.
• Understanding hospice philosophy and comfortable providing specialized care.
• Patience and attention to detail when working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care tasks including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linens as assigned.
• Take and record vital signs (oral, rectal, axillary temperatures; pulse; respiration; blood pressure) when ordered.
• Assist in dressing/undressing patients and meal preparation/feeding as assigned.
• Assist in ambulation and range of motion exercises per nurse or therapist instructions.
• Maintain communication with patients, families, and staff and report changes to supervisor or primary nurse.
