Job summary

Continuum-Care-of-Washington is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to support patients under RN supervision in Edmonds, WA. You will perform personal care, assist with daily activities, manage transfers, and document observations to ensure comfort and safety.

The role emphasizes effective communication with patients and families, adherence to care plans, and strict confidentiality. Eligibility includes CNA training, NAC, CPR, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant course or equivalent training.
• Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC).
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification (hands-on demonstration required).
• Current Food Handlers Permit.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Understands hospice philosophy and provides care to the terminally ill.
• 1 year home health/hospice experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills to document in EMR.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care after patient assignment and attend to requests promptly.
• Communicate with patient and family respectfully, maintaining confidentiality.
• Ensure safety and proper use of equipment; assist with transfers and positioning.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and linen changes.
• Assist in dressing and undressing as assigned.
• Assist in feeding as assigned and follow safety guidelines for food handling.
• Monitor skin and report any concerns to RN Case Manager.
• Assist with ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice team.
