Job summary

Shalom Hospice of Washington in Bremerton is seeking a compassionate hospice aide to support patient comfort under RN supervision. You will perform personal care, monitor changes, document observations, and report to the Case Manager. Duties include baths, transfers, feeding support, and safety checks.

Qualified candidates have a state-approved CNA program, NAC, CPR certification, valid food handler, HS diploma or GED, and driving eligibility. Prior hospice/home health preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant course or equivalent training.
• Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC)
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
• Current Food Handlers Permit
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Understands hospice philosophy and cares for terminally ill patients.
• Prior hospice/home health/long-term care experience preferred (1 year).
• Basic computer skills to document in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including baths, grooming, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with dressing, undressing, and feeding as assigned.
• Report patient changes and observations to the RN Case Manager.
• Maintain patient safety and proper use of equipment.
• Support with activities of daily living and light homemaker tasks.
• Document care accurately in the EMR system.
• Offer respite for patient, family, and caregiver when appropriate.
• Adhere to organizational care procedures and conduct standards.
