Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks an experienced Hospice Aide to deliver patient care under RN supervision. Care needs and visit frequency follow the Hospice Aide Plan of Care.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, current Maryland CNA registration, and a valid driver’s license with insured vehicle. Prior acute or home care experience is preferred, and empathy with ill or frail patients is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Licensure: Maryland CNA registration in good standing.
• Valid driver’s license with insured vehicle.
• Experience in acute or home care setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively and show empathy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, feeding and hygiene.
• Ensure safety and proper use of equipment (beds, rails, O2).
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with shopping as needed.
• Record vitals as ordered (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP).
• Monitor and protect skin integrity; prevent tissue breakdown.
• Report changes to supervising nurse and coordinate with caregivers.
• Assist with ambulation and prescribed exercises.
• Help with light laundry; keep living area clean and orderly.
• Provide respite for patient/family when on-site.
