Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Maryland is seeking a Hospice Aide to support patients with essential personal care under RN supervision. Responsibilities align with the Hospice Plan of Care and focus on comfort, dignity, and safety.

You will perform bathing, dressing, feeding, and simple health observations, communicate with the care team, and document care using handheld devices. A HS diploma and Maryland CNA registration are required, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current Maryland CNA registration.
• Valid driver’s license with insured auto as required by GBMC.

Responsibilities

• Performs personal care and attends to patient/family requests promptly, assisting with bedpans, baths, oral hygiene, baths, and feeding.
• Monitors safety needs, uses equipment safely, and supports mobility as directed.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals as assigned and assists with feeding.
• Records vital signs when ordered and observes patient condition per nurse instructions.
• Maintains patient skin integrity and reports changes to supervising nurse.
• Assists with ambulation and exercises as instructed by the nurse or therapist.
• Keeps living area clean, assists with light laundry, and supports appropriate care environment.
• Performs extension therapies per plan and provides respite for patient/family on-site.
