Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in an inpatient setting. This role focuses on personal care, comfort, and daily living activities for patients in Hospice care.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience, with hospice and end-of-life care experience preferred. The role emphasizes empathy, safety, and teamwork within GBMC values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience preferred; enrollment in an accredited nursing program accepted in lieu of experience.
• Hospice experience and experience with dying patients are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene and feeding assistance.
• Assists with bedpan/urinal use and dressing changes.
• Monitors patient safety, uses equipment properly, and reports changes to supervising nurse.
• Prepares nutritious meals as assigned and records vital signs as ordered.
• Assists with ambulation and light activities per instruction.
