Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience: hospice experience preferred; caring for dying patients.
• Knowledge/abilities: Hospice philosophy, communication, empathy, independence, medication safety.

Responsibilities

• Attend to patient/family requests promptly for personal care needs.
• Assist with baths, hygiene, feeding, dressing, and basic tasks.
• Take and record vital signs when ordered within training.
• Observe skin care and prevent tissue breakdown.
• Report changes to supervising nurse and coordinate with care team.
• Assist with ambulation and light laundry; keep room orderly.
• Provide respite for patient/family when on-site.
