Job summary

SCI in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Operations Assistant for funeral services support. You will assist with service preparations, transportation, and guest reception, ensuring respectful handling of remains and items.

The role requires physical stamina, compassion, and strong communication. Duties include driving, office tasks, and coordinating logistics for services and visitations, with flexible schedule. Must have high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Funeral service diploma or equivalent training preferred.
• Current driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Basic computer and phone system familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation for services, including delivering and setting up arrangements and keepsakes.
• Prepare documents related to services and cremations as directed.
• Assist with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting.
• Perform office duties: phones, fax, computer, debit card machine, postage meters, and AV equipment.
• Run errands for supplies and deliveries.
• Greet families, usher, drive and park vehicles as needed.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and pickups.
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with accommodations for families during services and visitations.
• May wash/clean funeral home vehicles as required.
