Job summary

sci is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations and to assist families during services and visitations. The role involves greeting clients, answering questions, and coordinating service logistics in a compassionate, compliant manner.

The position requires a high school diploma, prior customer service experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes.
• Prepares documents related to services and maintenance as directed by management.
• Assists with dressing and preparing remains for viewing or cremation as permitted by law.
• Performs office duties such as answering phones, operating fax and multi-line phone system, and basic data entry.
• Runs errands for supplies and floral deliveries.
• Serves as an usher and may assist with parking and transportation for families.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pick-ups.
• Ensures refreshments are available where permitted by law.
• Assists with visitations, memorials and funeral services including set up and family item delivery.
• Greets client families entering the office and provides information.
