Job summary

sci in Colorado Springs seeks a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations. You will greet families, answer questions, and assist on services and ceremonies while upholding company policies.

Must be able to work weekends and adapt to a flexible schedule. Responsibilities include preparing for services, arranging keepsakes, handling documents, and driving on-site vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services: floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, keepsakes and stores them properly.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance.
• Assists with preparation of remains including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as allowed by law.
• Performs office duties: answering phones, fax, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter and scale, stereo/video system.
• Run errands for floral delivery and supplies, documents, etc.
• Serves as usher and may park cars or perform transportation.
• Drives Funeral Home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services including setup, dressing and casketing remains.
• Greets and receives client families entering the office for information and assistance.
• Accommodates the needs of the family during a service or visitation.
